Replacin
g a DC Power Supply Cable
To replac
eapowercableforaDCpowersupply:
1. Locate a r
eplacement power cable and a lug that meet the specifications
defined in “Chassis Grounding” on page 86 and “DC Power, Connection, and
Power Cabl e S pecifications” on pag e 7 7.
CAUTION: A licensed electrician must attach a cable lug to the power cable that
you suppl
y. A cable with an incorrectly attached lug can damage the router (for
example, by causing a short circuit).
2. Attach an
electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding stra p to your bare wrist and
connect the strap to the ESD point on the chassis, or to an outside ESD point if
the router is disconnected from earth ground. For mo re i nformation about
ESD, see
“Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage” on page 205.
3. Press and release the power button to power off the Services Router. Wait for
the
POWE
R
LED to turn off.
4. Ensure that the voltage across the DC power source cable leads is 0 V and that
the cabl
eleadscannotbecomeactiveduringinstallation.
